The Law of Manifestation in Coaching
One of the gifts of coaching to the clients and us is Presence.
I wrote this text on my birthday. I started the day slowly with my plan for the week, then I prepared a presentation for my Communication and Conflict Management training, and then I took a nap.
While I napped, I could notice the dream as it unfolded. It was an idea of quitting organizing my Coaching Mastery Program in September and let it go for sometime later when we have at least five mentees prepared to take their coaching to the next level. I could contemplate the fear of not being able to do it and the shame of revealing my powerlessness to those who would read this text but mainly to my internal critic.
Then I decided to let go of the fear and shame and transform it into a story for those who find being present to the client thoughts relevant. And do it not for the sake of the results but rather to give my best.
Presence to your client is an external dynamic of the Presence towards yourself. Presence to your client transcends your ego’s needs and wants, because you are putting your attention to the welfare of the other.
Coaching is a dynamic where the client leads the dance, and the coach responds to the client’s movements aim to manifest their desires. Now, speaking of transcending Ego, you might be wondering.
How to be responsive to the client when we get triggered?
What happens to you into the relationship with the client might be a fractal of a significant repetitive pattern. And it could be related to the client’s goal. Because you want to express it in a meaningful way that could reach the client, this is a reason why as a coach, you have a conscious intention to Partner with the client.
In the ICF PCC Markers list, you can find precise moments where the coach demonstrates partnering.
In our Coaching Mastery Program, while you might be coaching someone, you will be given precise feedback to ensure you partner in all the explicit and implicit situations.
As an assessor, I have been extensively trained by ICF to work with the PCC markers and the mentees that attended to the program get an extensive group and individual feedback with the aim to master partnering and other ICF coaching competencies and prepare their recordings for the ICF certification exam.
